Calvary Baptist Christian School was founded in August, 1977, and is a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church; All faculty and staff are employees of the church. It is our goal to provide a balanced education that emphasizes spirituality, as well as academics. Our philosophy of education is found in Proverbs 1:7a "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge." We stress the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
The curriculum we use is called "ABeka," and is developed by Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida. Currently over a half-million students worldwide use this program, which is designed for a traditional classroom setting. In order to keep tuition costs affordable, some classes are combined. This maintains a level of excellence and challenge.
Calvary Baptist Christian School offers a quality, well rounded education. We do not discriminate based on race, color, or nationality. Since our school is a Christian school, we expect our students to be in Sunday School and Church each Sunday, and to fill out a student service report every Monday. There is a student dress code that is specifically stated in the student handbook. An interview is required for admission to C.B.C.S. We believe that the role of the Christian School is to be an extension of the home and the values that are taught there. We are interested in accepting students whose parents agree with and support the values that are held and taught at Calvary Baptist Church.
